Keep in mind that only briefly reading over or engaging with given resources does NOT guarantee success in the examination. Your performance in getting certified is determined by the effort you put in, and ACES heavily recommends learning from online sources and textbooks in your own time about topics listed in the study guide to solidify your understanding and prepare for the exam.

Certification Levels

ACES Certifications are currently classified into 3 distinct levels by the value and difficulty they hold (an extra level is being added soon). The higher the certification level, the more valuable the certification is. Additionally, higher levels include more content derived from a professional and industry level, with applicants being subsequently provided with more preparation and resources by ACES. Below are the three current certification levels:

  • Core is the first certification level which introduces the basic concepts and fundamentals of the given subject field. Getting certified on this level illustrates a profound, foundational understanding of the subject and its main ideas.

  • Standard is the second certification level which encompasses the standard-level university concepts and skills required to navigate the given subject field. Getting certified on this level illustrates a strong knowledge base of the subject and applying its concepts to develop solutions to common problems.

  • Advanced is the third certification level which encompasses advanced, industry & university level concepts, skills, and complexities associated with the given subject field. Getting certified on this level illustrates a high-level problem solving capability, expert knowledge and advanced understanding of the subject on a significant scale.

In short, higher certification levels increases problem-solving capabilities, levels of understanding, and overall knowledge of the given subject field. Higher level certificates additionally expands content further into the university and industry level.
